The most and least expensive houses sold in Greater Manchester in the last few months

The most and least expensive properties sold across Greater Manchester in the last few months have been revealed.

Between April and June, Trafford was home to five of the priciest houses in our region, with the most expensive selling for more than £5 million.

The borough of Stockport also saw a couple of sales around the million-pound region, with two high-priced homes in Bolton also.

At the other end of the scale, many of the cheapest homes were sold in Manchester, going for around £40,000.

The latest Land Registry data comes as average house prices across the UK increased by 10 per cent over the year to May 2021.

It’s the highest annual growth rate the UK has seen since September 2007, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.

And growth has been strongest in the North West – where prices surged by 15.2pc for the same period.

Reports from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors cite a strong demand for housing against a shortage of homeowners putting their properties on the market as one reason for the price hikes.

Meanwhile, the pandemic has also forced some buyers to reassess their housing preferences, combined with the introduction of the stamp duty holiday.

So what were the 10 most and 10 least expensive homes sold in Greater Manchester in the three months to June?
