CROWN Place — A Gary girl was getting held Wednesday on expenses alleging she broke into her ex-girlfriend’s condominium, pointed a gun at the ex-girlfriend’s head and threatened to eliminate her.

Marcile R. Lewis, 42, was arrested early Monday just after the Northwest Regional SWAT crew entered the apartment in the 2600 block of West 61st Place in Merrillville, court records point out.

The ex-girlfriend explained to law enforcement she and a few kids, ages 14, 7 and 6, ended up pressured to barricade themselves in a rest room throughout the 3-hour ordeal that finished when the SWAT team rescued them.

A Lake Felony Courtroom magistrate entered not responsible pleas on Lewis’ behalf during an original hearing Wednesday. She’s dealing with 6 felony charges, together with prison confinement, battery by signifies of a fatal weapon, intimidation, pointing a firearm and residential entry.

Lewis’ bail was set at $75,000 surety or $7,500 cash.

The ex-girlfriend told law enforcement she arrived at the condominium with the young children, who had been being with her for the summer season, about 10:20 p.m. Sunday and noticed Lewis’ car or truck outside.

The girl and Lewis dated for about 5 months and divided in late 2020, court data point out.

Lewis, who did not have permission to be in the woman’s condominium, unhooked a door chain lock when the female and kids arrived, documents condition.
