NAYPYITAW, Myanmar – The Myanmar military services arrested a distinguished small business tycoon Khin Shwe and his son Zay Thiha on Monday just after they were being accused of demolishing historic properties on rented land owned by Myanmar’s defense ministry.

Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, a military spokesman, verified the two men’s arrests through a push convention in Naypyitaw on Thursday.

On Monday, armed service authorities detained workforce of an antique museum owned by the 71-year-old tycoon’s loved ones, but they were being later released. It is unclear how lots of staff were being arrested by the junta or what inquiries they ended up asked.

The chairman of the building company Zaykabar Enterprise Ltd. and his son are billed with violating Segment 24 of Myanmar’s 2015 regulation on the “safety and preservation of historical monuments,” which is supposed to safeguard structures regarded as critical to the country’s heritage. The prices ended up verified to the press by a member of the junta police in Yangon.

The demand carries a jail expression of 5 to 10 yrs if convicted.
