Land & Lake’s Ravenswood Restaurant Opens Friday In Former Fountainhead Spot

RAVENSWOOD — Land & Lake is opening a restaurant in Ravenswood Friday in the old Fountainhead location.

The cafe, which specializes in modern day requires on traditional American dishes and craft cocktails, opens 4 p.m. Friday at 1970 W. Montrose Ave. The hours this week will be 4-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 4-9 p.m. Sunday.

The cafe will reopen upcoming week 4-11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 4-9 p.m. Sunday. 

“The cafe will concentrate on increasing to meal company each day and then weekend brunch in the coming months,” LM Cafe Group’s communications director Lauren Hammond said.

The Montrose Avenue place is Land & Lake’s third place, adhering to outposts in Andersonville and Downtown.

Renovations doubled the restaurant’s potential to 160 seats and a far more cozy rooftop patio, Hammond stated.

The patio now has a dumbwaiter to allow for customers to love the restaurant’s entire menu whilst seated there, Hammond claimed.

“The big coated bar area is total with ceiling enthusiasts and umbrellas present shade to the open rooftop producing the house the perfect place to take pleasure in a gorgeous Chicago working day,” she stated.

The new homeowners also whitewashed brick walls to accent the eating location, Hammond stated. They also commissioned Chicago artist Jason Brammer create a custom wall mural depicting a composite street perspective of traditionally important buildings in Ravenswood which include All Saints Episcopal Church, Krause Tunes Store developing, the Dr. Wallace C. Abbott Household and the Deagan Developing, Hammond claimed.

The menu is related to the Andersonville location and functions items like a buffalo marinated crispy cauliflower with fried onions and a vegan corn sauce a burger with American cheese, dwelling produced dill pickles, onions and Thousand Island dressing and a 15oz boneless seared 50 percent chicken with garlic, olive and thyme, served with refreshing slash fries and home pickles, mentioned Lauren Hammond, Hammond claimed.

“Given the restaurant’s proximity to Chicago’s famed Malt Row, Land & Lake Ravenswood will emphasis on highlighting locally brewed beers and craft cocktails utilizing domestically and regionally distilled liquors, Hammond reported.

Cocktails incorporate Strawberry Fields made with CH Distillery rum and Amargo de Chile, strawberry simple syrup and lime juice the Bourbon Mule manufactured with with Jeppson’s Bourbon, lime juice and ginger beer and the Mango glowing cocktail built with with Rhine Hall mango brandy, simple syrup, lemon juice and glowing wine, she mentioned. 

Fountainhead shut immediately after 10 several years in the neighborhood in November 2020, amongst many eating places and companies pressured to shut for the duration of the pandemic.
