The property, owned by Jim Brock, is designed up of put together plenty, with approximately 164 acres in New Hartford and 285 acres in Kirkland. The land is up for sale and the inquiring price is $3.9 million.
Most of the property is undeveloped, and a consortium of spot teams and people would like to keep it that way and potentially use it to prolong Sherrill Brook Park and ultimately create a neighborhood forest for the location.
The Sherrill Brook Forest Coalition experienced intended to invest in the overall home, but the team is now more inclined to coordinate community passions with any possible developers and regional governments.
“This would build an great regional recreational open up house source suitable inside our populated areas as properly as preserving a attractive forest assets,” stated Stuart Miller, a member of the Sherrill Brook Forest Coalition. “In addition, there is a good opportunity to establish a segment of a Utica/New Hartford to Clinton off the road biking and strolling trail on this home.”
The coalition is created up of 6 other groups and other neighborhood members, Miller explained.

Kirkland and New Hartford officers are not just confident how developable the proposed track of land is.
The land is now undeveloped, even though each Miller and Miscione have noted photo voltaic organizations have categorical curiosity in probably employing some of the land in New Hartford for solar farms.
A person Connecticut-centered photo voltaic organization confirmed to the Observer-Dispatch that it experienced appeared at the area for a possible photo voltaic farm, but ultimately decided in opposition to it.
Miscione believes it would cost developers way too substantially to establish land inside of the parcel, hence not generating it really worth their time.
“I don’t see that ever getting developed,” Miscione mentioned. “The price tag to acquire that would be astronomical.”

A main path to connect the cities of New Hartford an
